School of Life

School of Life

An Overview

LANCCI's School of Life program nurtures environmental stewardship among young people through conservation education, climate awareness, and student-led engagement. In partnership with Laikipia Wildlife Forum, LANCCI organizes conservation debates and environmental learning sessions that connect Indigenous ecological knowledge with scientific understanding.

Field Activities

01. School Conservation and Environmental Leadership Program

In partnership with Laikipia Wildlife Forum, LANCCI organized conservation debates and environmental learning sessions involving students from Doldol Boys Secondary School, St. Francis Girls Secondary School, Doldol Mixed Secondary School, Ilpolei Secondary School, Kurum Secondary School, and Lokusero Secondary School. The debates focused on the invasive species Opuntia stricta, exploring its impact on ecosystems, livelihoods, biodiversity, and local communities. Students researched and presented solutions through debates, presentations, and creative demonstrations — encouraging critical thinking, environmental awareness, and youth participation in conservation dialogue.
