01. Revitalizing Indigenous Beekeeping and Sustainable Livelihoods
LANCCI works with pastoral and Indigenous communities to strengthen sustainable livelihoods through the revitalization of traditional beekeeping practices and Indigenous knowledge systems. In partnership with local beekeepers from Seek, Bokish, Kurikuri, Tool, and surrounding communities within Shulmai Conservancy, LANCCI facilitated community dialogues and training sessions aimed at understanding challenges affecting apiculture and identifying sustainable solutions. Community members highlighted key challenges affecting beekeeping, including prolonged drought, deforestation, charcoal burning, loss of bee habitats, limited market access, and climate change impacts.
