Our Conservation Story

Initiated in May 2019, our key mandate is to champion the protection and conservation of both flora and fauna, sensitize communities on effective and sustainable land use practices, monitor and fast-track community conservation progress for the posterity of the current and future generations.

LANCCI was formally registered in September 2021 under the Ministry of Labour and Social Services as a Community-Based Organisation. Ever since its formation LANCCI has been sensitizing the community members on biodiversity protection and conservation through scientific and traditional ecological knowledge.

We address perennial challenges to conservation such as charcoal burning, human-wildlife conflict, and water shortage. LANCCI is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political community-based organization promoting socio-economic practices of indigenous people.
